Peregrines at La Jolla Cove : May 2021

May 17, 2021

I only saw the male today. He came in with food, plucked it, and took it to the nest himself. Unusual.

Two chicks spotted today. It looked like they got fed just as I arrived - an adult flew north around the point. Later, the male showed up alone to feed the chicks again. The female, 88AE, appears to be gone.

The male was on the cliff near the nest when I arrived. He left around 2:45 when I wasn't paying attention. The two chicks just sat there and nothing else happened.
Another photographer said a new female has been seen, taking a food transfer from the male and teasing the chicks.
