Peregrines at Torrey Pines State Beach : March 2019
March 19, 2019
It looks like 16AC has a new, unbanded mate. It also looks like the nest site may have moved further down the beach, as they repeatedly visited a particular ledge. A third falcon showed up and there was much chasing around.
It was a long wait this afternoon. Both adults flew briefly as I arrived. It looked like the female disappeared into the new suspected nest ledge, so I staked it out. Three hours later, the male came by with food and they did an exchange right overhead! Unfortunately, my autofocus decided to lose the handoff shot.
