Peregrines at Torrey Pines : June 8-10, 2017

The first sunny, blue sky day in a while! Because the juveniles were flying when I arrived, I stayed down on the beach instead of hiking up to the trail. One thing led to another and I spent all afternoon on the beach. It offered better views of food exchanges, though the dogfighting looked like it would be better on the trail. There were generally only short breaks between activity, and quite a bit of pelican and osprey chasing. A 5th juvenile showed up at one point as well.

The cloudy weather returned. Things were pretty quiet with bits of flight activity, but not much dogfighting. On my way out, I went down to the beach and found one of the juveniles exploring at the waterline!
